            Companion™ - Energy Delivery System

            Picture

The Companion™ is a dedicated, mains powered, energy delivery system for use with the Alert™ Catheter. It comprises a touch-screen computer and a base station which can optionally be connected to a printer, and an ECG cable.

Once the Alert™ Catheter has been inserted approprately in to the patient, the screen typically displays the surface ECG (optional), the atrial EGM and the Ventricular EGM. There are  controls to select the amount of shock energy to be delivered and a shock button. Additionally, pacing stimuli can be selected and delivered to either the atrium or the ventricle, either manually or automatically post-shock.

The Companion™ should only be used by staff who have been appropriately trained in the use of the Companion™
